So what is SEO copywriting?
I’m glad you asked, because it’s a commonly misunderstood term.
Copywriting is, simply put, all the text that you would find on websites, in advertisements, in emails, blogs, even the little brochure or slip of paper you find in your mailbox.
SEO copywriting specifically refers to copywriting for websites, blogs and online advertisements. SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimisation’ and it refers to all the tactics SEO copywriters and SEO agencies use to get websites ranking higher in Google. While a copywriter can write great copy for humans, an SEO copywriter understands things like keywords, meta descriptions, and search intent. An SEO Copywriter specialises in writing great copy for humans and search engines.

What forms of copy will you write for me?
All kinds! I write anything from brochures and flyers, to web copy, blogs and emails. Just shoot me an email and I’ll show you how I can help.
Where are you based?
I’m a freelance SEO copywriter from Melbourne, but writing doesn’t really have a postcode, so I accept clients from all over the globe. If you have access to the internet and some means of contacting me, I’d love to hear from you, no matter where you are.
Do we have to meet in person?
Nope! If you have access to a phone, we’ll organise a time to discuss your project remotely. I’m happy to discuss meeting in person if you’re in the Melbourne area, but this will incur a small travel fee.
How long does the briefing take?
It changes from project to project, but allow two hours for us to really get to the heart of your business and what you want to say.
These things can take time, especially if you want me to have all the facts before I start writing.
Never trust a copywriter who doesn’t take a detailed briefing before starting their work.
How much do you charge?
I have a personal vendetta against charging by the word or by the hour, as I believe it’s an inaccurate measurement of value. It also often leaves clients uncertain as to how big their final invoice is going to be, which can make budgeting difficult.
To keep everyone on the same page (and avoid awkward conversations once the project is complete), I charge on a project-by-project basis. That means, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting and how much you’re paying for it from the very beginning. As every project is different, it’s best not to quote prices until I know what it is exactly that you need.
Shoot me an email below so I can give you a quote that’s been specifically tailored to you.
Do you work on retainer?
Sometimes!
While I believe in letting the relationship develop a bit first, once we’ve worked together for a bit, it’s certainly something I would consider. Please be aware that I will only agree to a retainer once the both of us are confident that our partnership is solid and positive for both of us.
Who does the pictures on your website and blogs?
I do! I’ve been an artist for years. I’m mostly a sculptor, but I also love doodling fun little cartoon drawings like the ones you find on this website. When I started my website and blog, I hated the idea of using stock photography. It felt so boring to me and I didn’t want to have a website that looked like everyone else’s. So I started doing my own illustrations!
Would you do the illustrations for my website too?
Absolutely! Check out my content illustration services to learn more.
I want realistic artwork on my page. Will you do that for me?
Realistic or more detailed art styles take a long time and, honestly, just aren’t that enjoyable to me.
However, I am a bit of an all-rounder when it comes to my illustrations. If you’re interested in seeing some of my other styles, check me out on Instagram @thewiredartist.
Is your last name really Ventura?
Yep! It’s both a blessing and a curse.
Do you get called ‘Ace’ a lot?
I’ll let you guess the answer to that one yourself.
